Mistakes, we’ve made a few…

Page 757, fifth line from bottom: “…displays, in your notification area, a miniature version of the Memory CPU Usage graph.” (Thanks to Ken Gardner.)

Page 59, third line from bottom, continuing to end of paragraph on following page: “To do so, open Registry Editor…” This discussion is in error. We learned after publication that these registry settings do not work as they did in Windows XP. They are included only for compatibility with scripts that use the WMI provider. A workaround is available using the vssadmin resize shadowstorage command, but we are told that a bug in this command causes the size to be reset to the default the next time a restore point is created.

Page 60, ”Inside  Out: Customize System Restore Intervals.” This information is incorrect. The values in this registry key are provided only for compatibility with Windows XP and do not work in Windows Vista.
